A question we’re commonly asked is how to screw through multifoil insulation products such as SuperQuilt and EcoQuilt Expert?

The screws we recommend using are the FastFix Multifoil Insulation Screws which have been cleverly designed to work with all types of multifoil insulation products. Why are FastFix Multifoil Insulation Screws different to standard screws? The screws have a 40 degree deep single thread which creates resistance to the screws being pulled out and creates a secure hold, they have a sawtooth design which prevents the wooden battens from splitting, they are also double counter sunk which assists with counter sinking by reducing the risk of head shear whilst also providing head strength.

EcoQuilt Expert – Our best selling multifoil, best for DIY use. Equivalent to 100mm mineral wool.

EcoQuilt45 – Suitable for roofs, walls and floors. Better value alternative to SuperQuilt, when comparing cost vs performance.

YBS BreatherQuilt – 2-in-1 Breathable Multifoil Insulation, designed for over rafter use. Replaces requirement for standard breather membrane & significantly improves the U-value.

YBS SuperQuilt Lite – Made from the same materials as the original YBS SuperQuilt however it’s thinner and easier to handle.

Airtec Double – Thin 4mm bubble membrane with reflective foil both sides. Built in Vapour Control Layer. Equivalent to 20mm PIR Insulation.

Superfoil – Suitable for roofs, walls and floors. This is a similar product to YBS SuperQuilt however isn’t as highly certified.
