EcoPro Garage Door Insulation Kit
EcoPro Garage Door Insulation Kit
Multifoils Directs EcoPro Garage Door Insulation Kit – A simple and affordable DIY Kit to retain heat in your garage conversion. A durable, lightweight multi-layered thermal blanket, which is quick to apply and suitable for all-year-round use.
Benefits of Insulating Garage Door
Whilst insulating a garage to a decent standard is common, often the garage door gets forgotten.
These doors are usually thin metal doors that can allow cold bridging to enter, and create condensation. In addition to this, in summer months it can allow the temperature to rise considerably.
Why insulate to a great standard in the roof/walls, and leave the door?
Which Insulation is Included?
Unlike most garage door kits, the insulation offered is thicker and thermally higher performing. Included is EcoQuilt Expert, a lightweight 6-layer multi-foil blanket, equating to 50mm Rigid PIR Insulation!
EcoQuilt Expert provides improved thermal benefits compared to most garage door kits. In most standard kits you may receive a 4mm reflective bubble, however, EcoQuilt is approx 45% thermally higher performing.

How To Insulate Your Garage Door
How to Insulate a Garage Door
-
Clean Garage Door
Firstly before applying any items, it is essential the garage door is fully wiped down. It is vital there is no dust or debris on the garage door, as this could affect the tape sticking on the garage door.
-
Measure the Garage Door
Next step is to measure the length and height of the garage door. This is important the correct dimensions is cut for when the insulation is fitted. Note - The insulation is 1.2m in width.
-
Cut the Multifoil Insulation
With a cutting knife, or Multifoil Scissors, next cut the insulation to the correct size. Usually we recommend to roll the insulation horizontally on the garage, so usually the length needs to be cut, compared to the width.
-
Stick Double Sided Tape on Insulation
We would recommend fixing Thermaseal Double Sided Tape directly on the insulation. Run the tape completely around the perimeter of the cut-to-size insulation piece. Aswell as around the perimeter, there is no harm to go overkill on the Double Sided Tape. You may want to create a cross also with the Tape. Once you stick the Double Sided Tape on the insulation, you should be able to peel of the sticky back, exposing a sticky side ready to fit on the garage door.
-
Stick the insulation piece on the garage door
Once the insulation has been fixed with the tape, it is ready to stick directly on the clean garage door. Start with the bottom half. Ensure the insulation is well installed on the door, to get a secure bond.
-
Repeat steps 5 and 6
Once the bottom half has been fitted, you need to repeat step to fit the bottom half.
-
Seal the overlaps with Thermaseal Foil Tape
The final step is the seal the overlap with Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape. To gain an even better seal, it is also recommended to seal around the perimeter.
