Our Saddle Clips are designed to enable you to recess all our Multifoil Insulation Range. They do this by creating a cavity that enables the Insulation to reflect.
We supply the Saddle Clips in two depths either 24mm/ 54mm and they are designed to fit around 50mm (Width) Battens or Joists.
They enable you to create an air space on either side of your chosen multifoil; be that EcoQuilt Expert, YBS SuperQuilt, and also Airtec Double.
This saves time and ensures you have the correct size air cavity.
The Saddle Clips are also commonly used in the double layer applications for meeting building regulations. Specifically, Pitched and Flat Roof projects, but also Floor and Wall applications too.
How do they work?
The Saddle Clips ensure that the correct air space is created on either side of the chosen Multifoil. The size of the clips gives the multifoil enough depth to reflect the cold away and warmth back into your home.
You simply lay the first layer of multifoil into place, use the clips then use your chosen finish.
If you are using two layers of multifoil insulation, follow the above steps. Then install your secondary layer directly across the battens.
They can be secured into place with a single nail, this saves you Time, Space, and Cost as it often removes the requirement of an additional batten.

What do Saddle Clips do?
Saddle clips are typically used in double-layer roof applications to meet construction code requirements in buildings with pitched and flat roofs. Saddle clips ensure that the correct air gap Is created on either side of the multifoil insulation. Saddle Clips are also popular in suspended timber floor joists also.
How do you install Saddle Clips?
Once the Quilt is laid over the timber joists or rafters, you then push the saddle clips over the timber. This then recesses the insulation layer in-between the joists. This will create an air cavity both sides of the material.
What Multifoil Insulations do I use Saddle clips with?
Saddle clips can be used with EcoQuilt Expert, YBS SuperQuilt, Foil-Tec and Airtec Double.
What size Joist can I use Saddle clips with?
