Conservatory Insulation
Conservatory Insulation
Create a 100% usable rather than an avoided space!
Conservatory Insulation is a very popular application. Simply because a conservatory is an area that is very susceptible to significant fluctuations in temperature.
Undeniably, uninsulated conservatories are uncomfortable due to their temperature. They are either too hot during the summer or too cold during the winter months. Not to mention, they are noisy when there is rainfall or when there is any external noise.
One of the easiest and certainly cost effective ways to address this issue, is by simply insulating your conservatory. Insulating your conservatory roof enables you to enjoy your conservatory all year round, irrespective of the weather.
How to Insulate your Conservatory?
A question so frequently asked is ‘how can I insulate my conservatory?’. The most cost effective way to transform your conservatory is to insulate it using our Conservatory Insulation Kit.. Normally cost savings mean compromising on quality – however we include the material that is used by the experts, so that is certainly not the case here. Our Multifoil Insulation will help retain 98% of radiant energy – compared to if there was no insulation barrier and just the existing glass/polycarbonate roof.
Thousands of customers have revived their conservatory using this Insulation Kit and method as we created a Conservatory Insulation Kit, which includes Multifoil Insulation (2 Grades – the EcoPro or SuperKit). The Conservatory Insulation Kits also include the ancillary items required to insulate your conservatory.
We also have a How to Guide and How to Video to ensure you have all the tools and information required to complete the conservatory insulation project yourself.
What do I Need to Insulate My Conservatory?
The Conservatory Insulation Kit includes everything (besides the battens) that you will need to insulate your conservatory.
You may notice, the Guide and Video comments on the Conservaclad finish. Generally, when customers have insulated their conservatory they install our Conservaclad, which is a white uPVC Cladding to ensure that they have a neat, clean finish. If preferred, you can plasterboard and plaster but for the Conservatory application then the ConservaClad is by far the most popular.
You may also consider our ThermaFrost Conservatory Roof Window Tint, only if your conservatory is glass. This simply ensures from the external you see a nice white finish (opposed to silver) and it also acts as a barrier between the direct sunlight and the Multifoil Insulation. If you conservatory is a polycarbonate, there is no requirement for the ThermaFrost.

Quick Tips on Installing our Conservatory Insulation Kit
The EcoPro or SuperKit is most commonly fitted to polycarb roofs, by firstly installing battens directly onto the PVC rafters. These are installed by using our FastFix Conservatory Screws. Once fixed, the multifoil insulation can be stapled in to place. The conservatory insulation is fixed directly on the battens, you should ensure the multifoil insulation is fully taped and sealed using Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape.
Ensure the product is fully taped and sealed. This will therefore ensure that the multi-layered blanket will work as a high performance vapour control layer, reducing the potential risk of condensation.
Once the multifoil has been installed, then you should install counter battens – with our FastFix Multifoil Screws – battens should be a minimum depth of 25mm. This will enable the internal finish to be installed, this is most often a lightweight plasterboard or cladding.
Creating an airspace, usually by timber battens, is vital when insulating with multi-layered blankets. Without the cavity’s the product are unable to effectively reflect. This will reduce the performance of the product.
Finally either plasterboard and plaster, or install ConservaClad.
